The Busy Bee

We seem to think that the busier we are, the better we are. The more activities our kids are in, the better we are equipping them for whatever is to come. Busyness doesn’t mean we are better. But it isn’t bad to be busy either-as long as we don’t have the perspective that the fullness of our lives is determined by how busy we are.

Jesus spent a lot of time in relationship with others. His busy was different than ours. There is so much fullness to be had in quiet evenings at home with our family, a Saturday morning with nothing to do but make pancakes and stay in pajamas, a long walk outside with our kiddos, or tea with a friend. Let’s not put busy on a pedestal; it has a proper place in life-just not the top rung.

The Lord is good to those who depend on him,to those who who search for him.

So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.

And it is good for people to submit at an early age to the yoke of his discipline: Let them sit alone in silence beneath the Lord’s demands(Lamentations 3:25-28)

Slow down. Enjoy the journey.

Kaylee and I have ADHD and we are learning to work together! It’s a challenge! We both like to cook and stayed in our pj’s the entire day on Saturday and cook! We learned patience, silence, and even learned more about each other…also, I was sick and needed the rest😂

This little farm boss babe is just that..a boss! It takes patience, again, to discipline her the way Christ wants us to discipline our kiddos because of her high spirited attitude.

Posting our Disney family vacation pictures made me realize we did not practice patience, maybe that’s why so many things happened to us! He had pink eye and we were extremely hot and frustrated and mad at our photographer for being hot and exhausted-maybe hangry, but I’m sure it was because we were hot. It’s in the past now.

How do you practice patience? How much of a busy bee are you? Are you good at these things as a mom?
